Video management

Introduction

Videos are video media that you create and wish to sell.

Adding media to a library

Videos are uploaded directly to a library. To initiate the process of uploading a video, it is first necessary to create a library. Once you have created a library, click the library folder to open it.

Next, click the ‘upload’ button at the top-right of the screen.

The system will next ask you to define the properties of the video. These include:

  1. Name of the video

  2. Description of the video

  3. How the video can be purchased - you must select one of these and have the option of selecting either credit card/debit card or pass.

  4. Expiration information - if applicable this defines how long the customer has to view a video after purchase.

Upon completing the properties of the file, the system will next ask you to select the video file. reservie supports the following formats:

  1. mov videos

  2. mp4 videos

Upon selecting the video, the video upload process will start. Large videos can take a long time to upload, so please be patient.

Once the video has uploaded, it will enter a queue for processing. All videos are ‘processed’ to optimise the streaming experience for your clients. During this processing we split the video up into chunks and re-sample the video at different bit rates - this allows your customer’s browser to select the best resolution for their connection.

Important: Video processing can take a long time. This is particularly the case for large videos. The system will automatically email you with updates on the file’s processing status. Alternatively, you can check in the library for the status of the video at anytime.

Deleting a video

You can delete a video at anytime via the library and by clicking on the ‘trash’ icon shown below the video preview image:

Selling and allocating a video

As soon as the processing of the video is complete, you will be able to allocate or sell the video to a customer.
