The workshop problem

Most booking tools were built for drop-in classes

What you sell has a start date and a finish. Tools built around a weekly drop-in make people book each session separately, and the course you meant to sell falls apart into fragments.

A course is one thing, not six bookings

A six-week course is a single decision somebody makes once. Booking tools built for drop-in classes make them book each week separately, which means half-full later weeks, people who miss one and think they have lost their place, and a register you have to assemble yourself.

It runs or it does not, and you decide late

A workshop needs a minimum to be worth running. You often know a fortnight out that it is short, and you need a way to say so and refund cleanly. Tools that treat every date as certain leave you cancelling by email and hoping nobody has booked a train.

Interest outlasts the places

A popular workshop fills and then keeps attracting people. Without a list you are managing the overflow in your inbox, and when somebody drops out a week before you are scrolling back through messages trying to remember who asked first.

Nobody pays £300 on a whim

A weekend intensive or a certification is a considered purchase. People want to hold a place and pay the balance later, and some will ask their employer to pay. A system that only does pay-in-full at the point of booking quietly loses you the bookings that were worth most.

Who reservie is for

A good fit

  • Makers and craft teachers running weekend workshops
  • Anyone teaching a course that runs over several weeks
  • Trainers running certifications with a fixed cohort
  • Teachers selling one-to-one tuition alongside courses

Probably not for you

  • Anyone selling tickets to one large one-off event and nothing else
  • Anyone expecting the software to find them attendees rather than bringing their own

Why we built it

We could not find software that fit, so we built it

We started reservie in 2015 because the booking software we could find did not fit the way teaching actually works. It was either too basic to hold a real timetable, or it buried a simple job under features and fees built for something much bigger. So we built what we wanted.

The part that matters here is that a course is one thing you sell once, not six things somebody has to remember to book. And when you email us, you reach a person who knows the system rather than a call centre.

Everything in one place

What reservie does for workshop and course teachers

A booking system that understands courses, cohorts and waiting lists, not a ticketing tool taking a cut.

Sell a course as one purchase

Every week of a course sold as a single place, so somebody joins the course rather than booking six separate evenings. You get one register for the whole thing.

A waiting list that keeps the order

When a workshop fills, people join a list instead of emailing you. If a place frees up the next person is told, and you are not the one remembering who asked first.

Early bird and concession rates

More than one price on the same date, each with its own limit, so an early rate can close while the standard one stays open.

Ask what you need before the day

Dietary requirements, experience, accessibility, what someone hopes to get out of it. A form attached to the booking means you have the answers before you plan the day.

Online and in person, or both

Run the same course over Zoom with joining links sent out automatically, or sell a recording for people who could not make the date.

Vouchers for the ones bought as gifts

A workshop is a common present. Sell a voucher that someone else redeems against a date that suits them.

What you can sell

All of it on one timetable, with one set of client records and one set of credits behind it.

One-day workshops

A single date with its own price, its own limit and its own joining details.

Multi-week courses

Six weeks sold as one place, with one register for the whole run.

Certifications

Longer programmes with a start date, a cohort and everything paid up front or in parts.

Weekend intensives

Two or three days together, priced as one thing rather than per session.

Early bird rates

A cheaper rate that closes on a date or after a set number of places.

One-to-one tuition

Private sessions alongside the programme, booked against your real availability.

Online cohorts

The same course over Zoom, with links issued after booking.

Gift vouchers

Bought by one person, redeemed by another against whichever date suits.

How clients book

You get a booking page of your own at yourname.reservie.net, showing your your workshops and courses with the places left on each. People pick a date, pay, and are on the list.

If you have a website, the timetable can sit inside it, so nobody is sent somewhere else mid-booking. WordPress, Wix, Squarespace and Showit all work, and we will put it in place for you if that part makes you nervous. Card payments run through Stripe, Apple Pay and Google Pay are there at checkout, and the money lands in your own account.

What it costs, in full

The plan you pick changes the transaction fee and nothing else. Equipment-aware capacity is on all of them.

PlanMonthlyTransaction fee
Starter£32% per transaction, 28p minimum
Growth£151.5% per transaction, 28p minimum
Pro£59No transaction fee

Stripe’s card-processing charge is separate and goes to Stripe rather than to us. On an £18 place booked on Starter, our fee is 36p. There is no contract, no setup fee and no charge for the first 30 days. The pricing page sets out every plan in full.

reservie and the usual alternatives

Studios this size usually end up weighing a platform built for gyms against a diary tool built for appointments, neither of which was built around a course that runs for six weeks.

Other platforms’ figures are their own published prices, correct as at August 2026. Where a company does not publish something, we have said so rather than guessed. Please check with them directly before you decide, because their pricing is theirs to change.

Setting it up, in practice

Three things, and the first one takes about five minutes.

1

Add the workshop or course

A date or a run of dates, a price, and how many people you can take.

2

Add anything you need to ask

Experience, dietary needs, accessibility. The answers arrive with the booking.

3

Share the link

Put it on your site, in a newsletter or on Instagram. People book and pay without emailing you first.

Also useful for

Regular classes alongside the courses

Plenty of people run a weekly class and a few workshops a year, and it is a nuisance when those live in two places. Both sit on the same timetable here, with the same customer list and the same credits, so somebody who comes weekly and books your April intensive is one person to you rather than two.

Teaching a regular weekly class too? The class booking system page covers recurring timetables, with yoga and pilates covered in their own right. One-to-one tuition sits on the appointment booking system page, and clubs running courses and gradings may want martial arts booking. There are like-for-like comparisons on reservie vs Acuity Scheduling.

Workshop and course booking FAQs

Can I sell a multi-week course as a single booking?

Yes. A course that runs over several weeks is sold as one place rather than a separate booking for each session, so somebody joins the whole course in one go and you get one register for the run.

Can I run a waiting list when a workshop sells out?

Yes. When a date is full people join a waiting list instead of emailing you, and when a place frees up the next person on the list is notified. It keeps the order and takes the admin off you.

Can I offer an early bird price?

Yes. You can put more than one price on the same date, each with its own number of places, so an early rate can sell out or close while the standard rate stays open.

Can I collect information from people before the day?

Yes. Attach a questionnaire to a booking and ask whatever you need — experience, dietary requirements, accessibility, what someone wants from the day. The answers come through with the booking rather than in a separate email thread.

What if a workshop does not get enough bookings to run?

You can cancel the date and refund the people who booked, and they are notified rather than left wondering. Being able to see the numbers in one place, early, is usually what lets you make that call in good time.

Can I sell a recording to people who could not attend?

Yes. Alongside the live date you can sell access to a recording, so the people who wanted the workshop but could not make the date are not simply lost.

How much does a workshop booking system cost?

reservie starts at £3 a month on the Starter plan, with a 2% transaction fee and a 28p minimum. Growth is £15 a month with a 1.5% fee, and Pro is £59 a month with no transaction fee. Stripe’s card-processing charge is separate and goes to Stripe. There is a 30-day free trial and no contract.

How is this different from Eventbrite?

Ticketing platforms take a cut of every sale, which is fine for a one-off but adds up fast when you run the same course four times a year. reservie is a flat monthly fee from £3, so what you charge is what you keep, less the card processing. It is also built for teaching rather than events: a six-week course is one place somebody books, not six tickets, and your courses, one-to-one time, passes and video sit with the same customer list rather than being scattered across tools.

Is there a contract?

No. Plans are monthly and you can stop whenever you like. The first 30 days are free, and there is nothing to sign.

Is it hard to set up if I only run a few workshops a year?

No, and you are not paying for scale you do not use. A single workshop takes a few minutes to put up, and the £3 plan is meant for exactly this: somebody running a handful of dates a year who wants people to be able to book and pay without a back-and-forth.
